Joint effort by the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce and Coalition for a Secure Energy Future announce new communication campaign

(SAINT PAUL, MN) – Today, the Coalition for a Secure Energy Future, in partnership with the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, announced the launch of the ‘Why Minnesota is Great’ website. The business groups plan to use the website to highlight some of the policies and attributes that make Minnesota a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

Doug Loon, president of the Minnesota Chamber, said, “Our goal is economic opportunity and growth for all Minnesotans. The overall cost of business, including energy, affects everyday decisions to grow here. Let’s work together to identify those statewide actions to build on our state’s strengths and minimize our weaknesses.”

Joel Johnson, executive director for the Coalition, added, “Thanks to our diverse energy portfolio, Minnesota industries benefit from electricity that’s cheaper than on the coasts. Our competitive energy rates have helped create an environment where businesses want to start and expand in our state. We will continue to advocate for a balanced approach that uses an all of the above energy strategy to ensure affordable and reliable electricity.”
