Coal Country Leadership Academy kicks off in ND
Posted September 20, 2017
About 80 Coal Country Leadership Academy students from Beulah, Center-Stanton, Hazen, Underwood and Washburn High Schools learned about mining, reclamation and power plant environmental compliance on Tuesday, September 19 at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center. The students are part of infographic content hosted by the Lignite Energy Council. They have two weeks to submit their entry to win a gift certificate to Bismarck’s Kirkwood Mall. The infographics are to tell a story about the environmental stewardship practices of the lignite industry. Here they listen to a presentation led by Kayla Torgerson, an environmental specialist with The Coteau Properties’ Freedom Mine.
