Coalition recognizes Rep. Dave Baker as Energy Champion

Coalition for a Secure Energy Future and Lignite Energy Council honors Rep. Dave Baker with Energy Champion Award

(Spicer, MN) – Joel Johnson, Director of The Coalition for a Secure Energy Future (The Coalition) is announcing a series of “Energy Champion” awards to a group of bipartisan Minnesota legislators.  Recipients of the award have championed an all-of-the-above energy strategy for Minnesota to ensure that consumers and businesses have access to affordable and reliable electricity.

“The Coalition is proud to recognize the work of Representative Dave Baker (R-Willmar) who is dedicated to ensuring that hardworking Minnesota families have access to affordable and reliable electricity,” Johnson said. “Rep. Baker has been a leader to ensure rural residents have access to propane resources during the coldest months of the year and has supported efforts of cooperatives to continue to operate their systems under local control. We thank him for his continued efforts.”

The award was presented to Rep. Baker by Coalition Director Joel Johnson.

“During my time in the legislature, I’ve worked to help our residents have affordable access to the energy they need on a daily basis,” said Baker. “I’m proud to accept this award, and thank the Coalition for a Secure Energy Future for their work in continuing to meet the energy needs of Minnesotans.”
