Sen. Utke Named Energy Champion for the Second Time

(WADENA, MN) – The Coalition for a Secure Energy Future (The Coalition) is announcing a series of “Energy Champion” awards to a group of Minnesota legislators. Recipients of the award have championed an all-of-the-above energy strategy for Minnesota to ensure that consumers and businesses have access to affordable and reliable electricity.

“The Coalition is proud to recognize Sen. Paul Utke as a dedicated leader to create policies that protect Minnesota families from higher cost and less reliable energy.,” said Luke Hellier, Director for the Coalition for a Secure Energy Future. “As a two-time recipient of the Energy Champion Award, Sen. Utke has been a distinct voice at the Capitol to utilize our diverse energy supply to grow our economy and remain globally competitive. We look forward to his continued leadership on this important issue.”

Sen. Utke offered the following response, “People in my communities know the key to lower energy costs is an “all of the above” energy supply. While some activists are trying to shut down pipelines in our backyard and tell us where we can get our energy, we know we can have a safe, affordable, and reliable energy supply that also protects the environment. I will continue to fight for my constituents and do what it takes to supply their needs and protect their resources."
